About us
Establishment of the Association
In a historic meeting on November 11th, 2022, a group of passionate tax consultants gathered at the Institute of Tax Administration (ITA) in Mikocheni B, Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam. Realizing the importance of a unified body to advance their profession, they founded the Tanzania Association of Tax Consultants (TATC). The Association aims to be a central hub for professionals in the field of tax consultancy in Tanzania. Our goal is to uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in the industry, ensuring that our members are well-equipped to deliver exceptional services to their clients. The Association was officially registered under The Societies Act CAP. 337 R.E. 2002, with registration number S. A. 23493, issued by the Registrar of Societies on April 25, 2023. The formal launch of the Association took place on October 23, 2023, with the Deputy Minister of Finance, Hon. Hamad Hassan Chande, gracing the event as the Guest of Honour.

Our Objectives
The core objectives of TATC are:
- Professional Exchange: Provide a platform for members to participate in in-depth discussions and deliberations on matters pertaining to tax consultancy services, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to professional advancement.
- Ethical Standards: Commit to upholding top ethical and professional standards in tax consultancy. Ensure fair and impartial handling of complaints against our members.
- Knowledge Enhancement: Improve the knowledge and awareness of our members and the public regarding tax matters, fostering trust in the expertise of the registered tax consultants.
- Educational Activities: Organize and facilitate high-level conferences, seminars, workshops, and presentations on tax legislation for our members, taxpayers, and the wider community.
- Code of Ethics: Establish and enforce a code of professional conduct, discipline, ethics, and decorum for our members.
- Collaborative Efforts: Coordinate and collaborate with various associations, societies, institutions, government agencies, and other authorities to support and achieve the objectives of TATC.
- Advocacy: Represent our members to tax authorities, government entities, and other organizations on issues related to taxation and the provision of tax consultancy services.
- Information Dissemination: Collect, evaluate, and publish information on tax consultancy services, taxation laws, and proposed changes to these laws, ensuring our members are well-informed.
- Publications and Resources: Release papers, journals, newsletters, periodicals, and books. Establish libraries and reading rooms, and distribute information through various media, including electronic platforms.
- Member Support: Safeguard, preserve, and protect the rights and privileges of our members, promoting unity, solidarity, and the recognition and dignity of the profession.
- Fundraising: Raise funds and accept donations, gifts, grants, and contributions from members and non-members to further the objectives of TATC.

TATC Executive Committee
The Executive Committee was elected by members voting at the TATC General Elections held on 9th March 2024 at the Peacock Hotel in Dar es Salaam. Additionally, Special Committees have been formed to work in conjunction with the Executive Committee to achieve the association's objectives.
CPA Victoria Soka ACPA, MBA
Chairperson
With a solid background of 25 years in accounting and tax management spanning various sectors including trading, hospitality, manufacturing, and NGOs, she currently serves as the founder and managing director of Telegreen Business Consultants. Holding a BCom degree and an MBA from the University of Dar es Salaam, she brings a wealth of expertise to her leadership role. As a founding member of the association, she fulfills the role of chairperson, overseeing the strategic plan's execution to accomplish the association's objectives and presiding over all association meetings with diligence and professionalism.

CPA Baraka Cassian ACPA, CA, MBA
Vice Chairperson
With a wealth of experience exceeding 13 years in Accounting, Auditing, and Tax Consultancy, and his distinguished career includes significant positions at KPMG (Australia) and C&A in Tanzania. He is a renowned Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice (Tanzania) and a Chartered Accountant (Australia), backed by a Master's in Business Administration from Griffith University, Australia. Baraka Cassian is currently in the esteemed position of Vice Chairperson, where he collaborates with the Chairperson to steer the organization towards its strategic goals and uphold professional standards.

Mr. Yeremiah Mbaghi MBA, B.com
Secretary General
Mr. Mbaghi is a Certified Tax Consultant and Associate Partner at Nshishi Attorneys and Tax Consultants in Dar es Salaam. He possesses an MBA in Corporate Management and a BCom degree from University of Dar es Salaam with comprehensive trainings on a national and international scale. As a distinguished founding member of the Association, his responsibilities as Secretary General encompass the management of daily operations, organization of meetings including taking minutes of the meetings,, maintenance of records, and facilitation of efficient communication within the association.
Mr. Melkizedeck Temba, MSc
Deputy Secretary
Possessing a Master's degree in Finance and Investment and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting and Education, Previously worked as a business teacher and project manager at Edmund Rice. Currently, holding the esteemed position of Director at DHC Consultants since 2020, focusing on providing top-tier financial consulting and tax advisory services. Renowned as a respected advisor in the financial sector, Melkizedeck Temba, a certified Tax Consultant, assumes the executive role of Deputy Secretary at TATC, tasked with supporting the Secretary General in daily operations and overseeing meeting arrangements and other delegated responsibilities.

CPA Shailesh Chavda, ACPA, FCCA
Honorary Treasurer
Shailesh Chavda, an experienced Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice with over 30 years of expertise in Accounting, Auditing, and Tax Consultancy, holds professional qualifications as a ACPA (Tanzania) and FCCA (UK). Currently serving as a Partner at Amber Consultancy and Managing Director at Pest Guard Limited in Dar es Salaam, he is esteemed as one of the distinguished founding members of the Association. In his role as Honorary Treasurer, he is tasked with diligently overseeing and strategically managing TATC's financial resources to ensure the Association's financial sustainability and successful pursuit of its objectives
