Dar es Salaam, 9th March 2024 – The Tanzania Association of Tax Consultants (TATC) marked a significant milestone in its history by holding its first-ever General Elections on 9th March 2024 at the Peacock Hotel in Dar es Salaam. This landmark event established TATC’s inaugural Executive Committee, following a transparent and structured electoral process that reflects the association’s dedication to governance and member representation.
The election saw the following individuals elected to lead TATC:
- Chairperson: CPA Victoria Soka
- Vice Chairperson: CPA Baraka Cassian
- Secretary General: Mr. Yeremiah Mbaghi
- Deputy Secretary: Mr. Melkizedeck Temba
- Honorary Treasurer: CPA Shailesh Chavda
The process was overseen by the TATC Electoral Committee, chaired by Jalia Mayanja with support from committee member Mr. Shemu Simon Malila. Conducted under the Tanzania Association of Tax Consultants (Elections) Regulations 2024, this pioneering election set a high standard for future elections within the association. Following the vote, the newly elected leaders took an oath administered by Advocate CPA Nicholaus Duhia, cementing their commitment to serving TATC with integrity and dedication.
Preceding this historic election was an engaging Tax Training session held on 8th March 2024, drawing both members and non-members to discuss contemporary tax matters. Topics covered included:
